The Belgian Waffle Ride – The Groad goes to California

The Belgian Waffle Ride in SoCal started out as one of the first mixed-terrain/gravel races in the region. Ted King placed 2nd there in 2018, so he wanted to go back to see what he could do in 2019. With the gravel racing scene becoming more competitive, he didn’t know how his Vermont-winter-training fitness would stack up. We filmed this in a long weekend and were pleased with the results. SoCal is beautiful!

With 32 days til Kanza, Ted hits the road and goes clear across the country to test his form at the Belgian Waffle Ride. Ripping throughout San Diego County, Ted catches up with the traditional cadre of gravel rippers, but sees some new faces in the crowd.
