The Rift Iceland – A 200km gravel race through the most beautiful landscape we've ever seen...

We had the pleasure of traveling to Iceland this July to follow Ted King competing in the Rift: a 200km gravel race that circumnavigates Mt Hekla, an active volcano. Putting it as blatantly as possible, this was the most fun we’ve had on a shoot in a long time. Iceland is like a photo/video paradise with perfect overcast skies, neon green mosses and incredible topography. The Rift launched their inaugural event at the end of July 2019 in Hvolsöller, Iceland. Bringing the likes of cycling legend Tinker Juarez, long time World Tour pro Christian Meier, Dirty Kanza champ Colin Strickland, stalwart motor Neil Shirley, and Ingvar Ómarsson, this first ever race was going to be epic.
